Testimonials
Dear Ms. Nina Hamberger,
I am writing this e-mail to thank you and to provide an update on my achievements. The Bunker scholarship has truly allowed me to worry less about financing medical school and to focus more on pursuing personal educational interests. I decided not too long ago to apply into Emergency Medicine Residency and I matched at Yale in New Haven, CT, where I was born and raised. I’m very happy to go back home and do something I love and worry less about what the pay and job market will be like. I also received the national Gold Student Fellowship for a community service project: bridging the refugee health gap during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond through a virtual community-based program in Burlington, VT. As an Emergency Medicine resident, I hope to specialize in global health, disaster medicine, and refugee populations. Thank you again for playing a big role in the Bunker Scholars Program and helping me achieve my dreams. I hope to keep in touch after my graduation.
Best,

Dear Mr. Kitchen,
I am a first-year medical student at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, and a recipient of the Robert B. Bunker Medical School Scholarship.
Since I was a child, my passion has always been to help alleviate the suffering of those in need of help. I attended nursing school to learn more about bedside care, patient autonomy and being an advocate for my patients. Being a nurse has helped me close the gaps in care between nurses and physicians. A patient is not just a case or a disease, as they are a human being in a hospital bed under tremendous fear. the privilege to care for them with their full trust requires a team of individuals wo strive for excellent patient-center care.
Attending medical school is the biggest achievement of my life, and this scholarship has opened many more doors for me as a future physician. The opportunity you’ve given me has forever changed my life. and this scholarship has opened many more doors for me as a future physician. The opportunity you’ve given me has forever changed my life. After medical school I plan on completing a residency in internal medicine and helping those communities who are underprivileged and in need of physicians.
Best Regards,
